Along for the Ride.

Wow I haven't been on here in the longest time. I don't know why I suddenly decided to write here because I haven't been able to write properly in months. Oh, I'll doodle and scribble on my notebook of the month but sadly, I haven't written a real thing for almost a year now.
The funny thing is, it's not like somebody's reading this, maybe someone will come across it but other than that, no one's really listening y'know? And I think that's the beauty of it. To write just because you want to, to do it for yourself and not for anyone or anything.
The fundamentals of writing have changed so much, nowadays all people can talk about is the end of the world or mythical creatures. It's like JEEZUS, what happened to actually writing a good old fashioned heartfelt story? A story that gives you goose bumps when you read the last paragraph and makes you cry and feel along the way. Who cares if it's fictional? At least it's about things that are real. I think I'm ranting about this because I found a new Sarah Dessen book; She is amazing, I wish I could write like her. Reading her books always makes me feel better and mainly because it's set in a world that is no where close to perfect. The clincher for me, is that it all works out in the end no matter what.
I like that ideology. I personally deem myself to be a fairly positive person, all that jazz about "Life is what you make of it" or "Everything happens for a reason" or my current favourite "Everything will be alright in the end; if it isn't, it's not the end yet."? Yeah, I'm like a walking poster girl for these. I got waaay more of these where they came from. I try to be the glass half full instead of the glass half empty but I think I'm stuck somewhere in the middle - more like, glass sort of full and glass sort of empty. Because seriously, it's ain't always butterflies and rainbows. Pick up a newspaper and you've got the biggest example right there; Planet Earth!
But it ain't right not to hope either. Hope's all we've got really, it's what got us all here in the first place.

How Dare You Dream?

In my dream, we're all at the movies. We're laughing and goofing around a little too much than is allowed in a movie theatre; They're so many people there, what's strange is they're all my people.
There's an unsettling sort of feel in the air, I can feel it from the very start like it's building momentum, gradually and seemingly unnoticed.
I don't remember what exactly happened next but the feeling that came next lingers on... It was bad.
Then there was a tunnel, everyone's leaving in their cars and the thing is, I'm kind of scared... Like they're leaving me behind to die.
The scene shifts again and I'm not alone. We're hiding and slowly making our way to a place which is supposed to protect us from whatever danger there is, once and for all. The destination is a cross between a theme park and something else. I don't remember because I don't even get to take it in.
Because when we get there, my heart sinks.
Everything slowly begins to go dark and even as I realise this is only a dream - MY dream - there's that feeling that this time, no happy ending is coming.
We're doomed.

The Shoe.

There's a few things I've learnt over the years; so much has happened, so much has changed, so much is still coming my way.
I wonder how I feel about anything anymore?
So:
- High School never ends.
- People come and go out of your life, most of the times when you least want or expect it. Even those who wrote on cards or in your diary and promised to 'be there no matter what'.
- Everything happens for a reason.
- When it comes down to who's really there for you, It'll always be God and your family - no one else.
- Life's too short to live as a bad person or a sad person. You never know what will happen next or in a matter of minutes. So, live every day like it's your last and to the fullest capacity.
- No matter what happens, tomorrow is a new day. I've already mentioned this and quoted Emerson. Lovely lovely philosophy. Gives me hope. :)
- Sometimes you have to let go to find out if there was anything worth hanging on to.
- MUSIC IS AWESOME. It helps every emotion. I wish I could have a permanent player in life that played a song for every scene in my life and build up a soundtrack. OO, what fun. I can already imagine what song will be for which scene. :D
- Nobody in this world can or should make you feel inferior to them in any way. You are no matter who you are or what you do.
- Don't strive to fit in, strive to STAND OUT. Come on people, what's the point of acting like a clone of everyone else? You'll never get your own identity.
- Life isn't fair - GET USED TO IT. It's always darkest before the dawn so you have to suffer first in order to push onto something better.
- Love ALL, trust a FEW, do wrong to NONE.

...And on that cheerful note, I am going to go back to watching New Moon. More epiphany's to come soon I'm sure. So excited I am. Sort of.
